September 2018 | Show 709

If you’ve lived in Oklahoma over the last several years, you know we’ve gone through some trying times. However, we’re still going full steam ahead - many positive and exciting things continue to happen in the Sooner State and we’re going to celebrate two of them during our visit to The Living Room this month.

Connie Armstrong, Director of the Oklahoma Center for the Book, which promotes the import role of books and reading, is our first guest. She’ll be discussing the first ever Oklahoma Book festival which will be held at the OKC Boathouse District. LISTEN NOW

We’ve talked about the power of books - now let’s talk about the power of STEM - Science, Technology, Engineering and Math in the lives of Oklahoma girls. Melissa Pepper, Chief Development Officer of the Girl Scouts of Western Oklahoma and Lilly Thomson, a star Girl Scout are in The Living Room to talk about an urban camp in Oklahoma City, the like of which we’ve never seen. LISTEN NOW

Support for The Living Room with Gerry Bonds is provided by the Chickasaw Nation in Sulphur, Oklahoma...a destination devoted to sharing and celebrating Chickasaw history and culture. More information at
